i waited so long for this book and i’m so SO glad it delivered. i will say the beginning was slow for me, it seemed to drag and be a bit redundant. BUT, as lucian started to open up more throughout the book, i was HOOKED. nothing warms my heart more than a broken man finding hope again, and reading lucian do just that made me heart so happy. sloane and lucian have chemistry and banter like no other, and although i love knox and naomi with my whole heart and more, these two are a close second favorite couple of mine. again, i loved things we never got over too much for this book to beat its place, but this book warmed my heart in all the right ways and i couldn’t be happier to have read it. the way lucian would do anything for sloane had me giggling and swooning so hard.
overall the twists, the chemistry, the ending.. everything was just PERFECTION.
i can’t believe the series is over now, this truly will be my new favorite comfort series. i’ll miss reading about these characters so much.

why was this NINETEEN HOURS long on audible?? also- lucy score i’m BEGGING you to write a character that differs from the whiney, sex-crazed female and her emotionally immature counterpart with the traumatic past.
i’m not gonna lie and say i didn’t eat these 3 books up, bc i did. but jesus, please stop writing sex scenes that read like bad wattpad smut. if i have to hear nipples being referred to as “peaks” one more time i’m gonna lose it. score’s characters in all 3 books fuck more than anyone i’ve ever met.
oh, and there’s no way lucian’s dick was that big where sloane needed to mention it every. single. chapter.
anyways. now we know this book follows the same trend as the two before it:
-stubborn female and traumatized male argue
-oops actually they like each other, but subconsciously
-but oh no, there’s a bad guy!
-male realizes his feelings only once female is in danger
-male informs the female they’re getting married
-male is magically healed from past trauma
-they all live happily ever after

3.5*
This is the third book in the Knockemout series, and it's about Lucian and Sloan. Lucian and Sloan were neighbours while growing up. Lucian did not have the easiest youth, and Sloan saw that as his neighbour and came to the rescue. In the meantime, they got a special bond going on between the two of them. Now, years later, there is this grudge that made them enemies. But when Sloan's father dies and Sloan becomes a target, they rekindle.
I had such high expectations of this book, and it just did not give me what I needed it to give me. Don't get me wrong, I adored this book. It simply did not give me what I expected after the previous two books. I thought I was getting this intense chemistry between Lucian and Sloan, but we hardly had any love story. SPOILER: they just had this physical chemistry, and then out of nothing, Lucian announced they were a couple? That is not how I expected their love story to go. Besides that, as @whatsdesreading also mentioned in her videos, the side stories and other characters where too much in this book. It really took away from Lucian and Sloan. They deserved so much more.

I have a love-hate relationship with this woman. I get sucked into her books but they're so long and certain things give me secondhand embarrassment
