This brother's best friend hockey romcom is simply adorable. If you're looking for a closeddoor hockey romcom with an abundance of flirting and cuteness, look no further.

Dawson and Emmy are just so sweet together. They listen to each and respect each other, and their chemistry is great. Dawson is just the cinnamoniest golden retreiver a MMC can possibly be. If I could find myself a real life Dawson Hayes, I'd be set. He is thoughtful, funny, and oh so supportive, I just love him.

This is the third book in a multiauthor series about the charity hockey team Dawson plays for, but it's the first one I've read so now I'm excited for the rest of the guys' stories. I'm also pretty excited for Sloane and Vale's story in Perfectly Wedded and thought it was such a fun plug having it be the main book discussed in this book.

Thanks, Grace, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! I loved Dawson and Emmy! All options are my own.

This was another cute story in the series. I enjoyed how supportive and patient dawson was. It was sweet how they built their friendship up, and how he was there for her in ways she didn't even realize. I felt bad for her insecurities, it was getting to be a touch too much, but luckily she came to her senses in time. Make sure to download the bonus epilogue, it was worth the grab

This was a short and sweet hockey romance, I adore Dawson he’s such a cinnamonroll and very clearly crazy about Emmy. I really loved all the talk about BookTok and romance books in this book, I loved that Emmy is a reader and BookToker. I kept wanting to yell at Emmy or give her a good shake about her hesitation with Dawson because he was so sweet and I just wanted them to be happy and it's clear he wanted to make it work with her and she was doubting everything. One of my favourite parts of this books though is the anonymous online friend part of this book I think those messages were very cute. It was also really funny to me how they thought they were doing good hiding their “dates” or relationship because they spent so much time together and it was probably super obvious to everyone.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book!!!

OK, we’re back in Maple Falls, and this is the second book in the Love On Thin Ice series. The books in this series can be read as stand-alones—other characters are mentioned, but there aren’t any spoilers. However, I’m trying to read them in order… though we’ll see how that goes. This book took me less than a day to finish, and the whole time, I was hoping Dawson would come pick me up on his motorcycle so we could go get Thai food, lol.

Emmy, like most of us, loves a good hockey—or any sport—romance, honestly. But she isn’t fully convinced that real men can be just as perfect as book boyfriends.

Dawson is her brother’s best friend and the new goalie for the Seattle Crushers. He’s had a crush on her since they were hiding in a wine cellar four years ago, and he’s determined to prove her wrong—even if that means reading romance books to learn how.

Now, of course, I didn’t like Spencer. However, if I’m being honest, Emmy annoyed me a little too. She came off as a bit whiny, and I found myself wanting to shake her and tell her to get over it because Dawson was perfect. That said, I loved this book overall. I was absolutely smiling and giggling at all their DMs, and I adored the ladies at the book club—nobody read the book, but they were definitely there for the gossip!

This one was...okay. Parts were cute, but other parts were a bit head-scratchy (goalies don't really fight much on the ice, skeins of yarn don't unfurl like a rolled up jersey--really small *balls* of yarn, maybe--and how did literally everyone else know that his dad paid for women to date him, even her grandma?) and we all know how I feel about not communicating--like Emmy and Dawson took not really communicating to OTT levels here. (Seriously? She was OK with him not telling her sooner the secret he'd figured out, because any earlier and she "would have been mad"? How does that even make sense?)

There are shades of The Shop Around the Corner and You've Got Mail here, minus the antagonism between the MCs (that's saved for another character instead), though the execution is somewhat lacking. There is hockey, which is always a plus, and I've always been partial to goalies, and the brother's best friend trope!--but even so, this book felt like it took me forever to read.

We love a book influencer as a character👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Pair that with her job at a bookstore and his willingness to read a hockey rom com and discuss it at book club and you have the makings of a great book! Emmy and Dawson clearly are draw to one another, but she can’t let herself fall for him because a real relationship would be unrealistic. eve though she gets in her own way at times, I loved Emmy’s dedication to her ideal life. I also love how Dawson supported her and handled her heart with gentleness and compassion.

A fun fall hockey rom com!

This is a closed door, kisses only rom com. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Thanks to the author for the gifted book. All opinions are my own.
