This book was just so sweet and fun and full of fall. What a perfect opener for the fall season! You are going to love Emmy and Dawson. They are such a cute couple even when she is trying not to fall for him. There is not a whole lot of hockey in here, so if you don’t know about hockey, no worries! If you love small towns with big heart (think Gilmore Girls) than this is perfect for you. The town book club and Emmy’s Mimi were my absolute favorite.

Dawson has to work hard for Emmy’s affection in this book and let me tell you he is every book boyfriend wrapped in a dream. Yep, Dawson is the absolute sweetest. You will fall for him pretty dang quickly. I love all of their little small special things they share together.

If you want a sweet, relatively quick read for the fall season then you definitely want to curl up with a cozy blanket and read this one!

Thank you so much to the author for this! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

CW: sweet and closed door!

Love on Thin Ice Book 3

This is another great installment in the multi-author Live on Thin Ice series. I have enjoyed each of these books and look forward to the rest of the series. The story of Emmy and Dawson was very easy to read and kept me involved throughout the book. I happily recommend this book.

If you're in the mood for a lighthearted, quick and easy hockey romance with some fall vibes, I definitely recommend this book!

I really enjoyed the premise and plot of this book. It was also refreshing to read a straight romance book (aka no spice) that still had me invested in the couple reaching their happily ever after.

Emmy felt real with her concerns about dating and being in a relationship with a pro hockey player, Dawson. Her anxiety over the press and what people will think is valid and was written well. I will say at some point it got a bit repetitive and frustrating for her to not open up to Dawson about her feelings.

Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend for those who love small town, hockey, and no spice romance novels!

I adored these characters so much! I love when the MMC is a secret booknerd and Dawson was the sweetest! In the beginning, Emmy lacked some self-worth. Dawson was the perfect match and went above and beyond to show her how much she really deserved. I loved all the little acts of love from Dawson. Seriously, one of my favorite book couples that I’ve read lately!

My rating: 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: none (kisses only)

Mini Review

The Friend Face Off by Grace Worthigton

This is the third book in the Love on Thin Ice Series but it can be read as a standalone. Once you get started reading a book by Grace Worthington you don’t want to put it down.  I loved Emmy. She was a sweetheart who had put others before herself. She’s a lover of books who also has a secret BookTok. She’s convinced no guy can be as romantic as the ones in her books.  Then we have Dawson, her brother’s best friend who’s determined to win Emmy over. I absolutely loved Dawson. He never gives up on his love for the girl of his dreams.  This town is so fun I love small town romances.  We have so many tropes in this one to name a few : He falls first, brother’s best friend, small town romance, & he will always be there for her (in the best protective guy kind of way.). Some other things I loved were the dating pact, she may have a crush but he definitely falls harder,  picnic’s on ice, motorcycle rides, & so many fun dates.  Guys could have a talk with Dawson if they want some dating advice. The book scenes with Emmy and Dawson will just give your own heart butterflies. And everyone could use a Mimi in their lives. Definitely go grab a copy of this one to add to your bookshelf or kindle.
