Based on the young adult Holly Black books I’ve read, I didn’t expect much from this one. But I was pleasantly surprised. It did take a little bit for me to really get into the story, but the intensity stays pretty high and the ending feels like it’s going to be predictable until it isn’t. This was a great story and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Took me a bit to really get into it, but oh my goshhh! I forgot how much I love Holly Black’s writing and the worlds/characters she creates.

Although I thought this was a stand-alone for some reason and am now super upset by the ending and the fact I have to wait for more lol.
