Some of the snippets in this were amazingly helpful and gave me some hope that I’m not just “lazy” or a “slob.” I would have liked a few more concrete actionable things I could do to combat the mental gymnastics I do sometimes.

This book made me realize I'm actually doing a hell of a lot better than I could be when it comes to my ADHD and house and hygiene upkeep lol. Some of the extremes described in the book were lows I've experienced, but most weren't. That being said, I still did pick up a few useful ideas that felt applicable for where I'm currently at, and I appreciated the overall message of letting housework and hygiene be morally neutral and instead focusing on what is sustainable for maintaining your household's health and happiness.
Thank you for this, I needed this book. Kind, helpful, nonjudgemental. It's already been helping me out a lot and I hope to carry these lessons forward in the future.
The best takeaways I received from this book are that there’s no “right” way to complete care tasks (better term used for chores) and everyone deserves self compassion. I actually have the motivation to get more done around the house after reading this! Each idea is condensed down but you get as much insight as you would from a book twice as long. It’s elevated even more by all the steps the author takes to make the material more accessible to neurodivergent folk.
