It was nice reading a book about housekeeping by someone who does not have an insta-worthy house. It was nice to read a book about cleaning by a psychologist who addresses triggers and traumas that might be associated with taking care of your space.

Wow. I feel SO seen. 5 stars for being able to do perfectly describe how it feels to be a woman/wife/mother trying to maintain a home and be responsible for all the invisible things. 3 stars for advice that pretty much equates to “do what you can, a clean house does not represent your worth.” Of course I know this is true, and all the advice Davis gives is so practical (and I will probably try some tips!), I just feel like her approaches wouldn't be enough for me. Totally worth the read. Quick and easy and incredibly validating, even if all I got from this book was knowing I am not alone in so many of the things that seem to paralyze me.

This one was excellent! Thanks to
©acciobooksandflowers for this pick! I know I struggle to keep my home clean and yet, let it be lived in. My four kids keep me running and often it is
overwhelming. This book has some excellent options to help with all that and some new phrases to use. The author encourages readers to replace these common phrases with the following:
-"Chores" are now "Care Tasks (a kindness to self)"
-"Cleaning" is now "Resetting the space"
-"Messy" is now "this space has reached the end of its functional cycle"
-"Good enough is good enough" is now "Good enough is perfect"
The audio book was so good too, it was read by the author and she really put her life and emotions on display.
Overall, this book is short, sweet and oh so validating!!
