This is a very hard narrative to read because of its brutal honesty, but a reader who when younger has been used will recognize remnants of this story, and the necessary coping detachment of this main character. Someone compared this to Queenie, which was one of my favorite reads of 2019. This is not that. May be too dark for some to read in 2020

A autora tenta demais parecer inteligente e ter sacadas geniais. A escrita soou muito pouco natural para mil. Porém, tiveram momentos em que essas sacadas faziam parte do texto naturalmente e nessas horas eu até que gostei do livro.
Coisas bizarras acontecem com a personagem principal e é extremamente inverossímil. Junta isso com a escrita e o resultado é esse livro que é bastante difícil de acreditar.
Li em dois dias, mas confesso que tiveram passagens que eu fiquei viajando e nem me esforcei para voltar e ler de novo.

I don’t have articulate words I don’t think for how I really feel yet I did really like it not so much that it’s a favourite but I’ll definitely revisit it and the ending chapter was probably one of the best endings I’ve read :)

I read this as an audiobook so I’m curious if I just wasn’t in the right headspace for it. Very much a “depressed woman” theme and I’m not in a down mood right now.
