Difficult LONG read and only finished because it is my book club’s selection of the month. TRIGGER WARNING: In detail descriptions of sexual assault, coercion, violence and abuse. Assault of underage minors. Way too detailed for me…I had to skip ahead in certain parts.
I can compliment the writer’s prose and imagination. She does have a floaty descriptive way with words. I can clearly see everything as I read. The story is a slow burn til the explosive last chapters, which seem pretty dramatic and unrealistic?
In the end, we’re still left with critical questions unanswered and a cliffhanger for yet another follow up novel. Guess you’ll have to read that one to finally know the answer to a question asked 10 years ago in the first book.

Written 10 years after Ice Cream Girls, Poppy and Serena have lived very different lives, but in this book their lives come together again.
This book focuses on Poppy's brother and Serena daughter. Once again the author deals with some disturbing themes with empathy. There are twists and turns throughout which kept me on the edge of my seat. There is unreliable narration, and the cleverness of the books title becomes apparent as you listen.
For me, this wasn't quite as good as the Ice Cream Girls, but it's a must read/lusten for fans of that book, and you should read that before this one.
The narrators do a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.

Hello, gorgeous cover! I’m back with another fabulous read from Mobius Books, an imprint of Hachette, publishing many previously released UK titles in print in the US for the first time. I say this every time I review one of their books- I am loving them all! All My Lies Are True is no exception.
This is actually a follow-up book but can easily stand on its own. This book is classified as a mystery/thriller/contemporary with a smidge of romance, and I think that suits it perfectly.
Serena is married and has it all, including a daughter, Verity, who happens to be the main character of the novel. We also hear from Serena and Poppy. There’s a trauma in Serena and Poppy’s past, and now Verity has been arrested for attempted murder.
My favorite thing about this book is how Dorothy Koomson builds suspense bit by bit. She drops breadcrumbs, and I love to analyze. Even at almost 500 pages, the story is completely absorbing, and I was caught up in the flawed characters and their actions. It also brought out a ton of emotion in every direction.
This was one wild ride, and I definitely have to go back and read The Ice Cream Girls now, as well as more books by Dorothy Koomson.
I received a gifted copy.

And here I thought that after The Ice Cream Girls, that was the end of things. Boy was I wrong.
Here they are, almost a decade later from the previous book. And isht is about to go down. I was, yet again, on the edge of my seat. I needed to know all the things. I needed the truths from the previous book to come to light for everyone. I needed these characters, all of them, to have some happy in their lives.
Like the previous book, the characters are everything. I feel so connected to them. I felt everything they were going through: their anguish, their triumphs, their sadness, their happiness. It was all there and more.
The who and the why just might shock you. The author did a great job at making me second guess myself for a minute during this book. I am not sure if this is the end of the story for these characters. Maybe it is. Maybe it's not. Part of me just wants everything to end with this book. But the part of me that is so invested in the characters thinks she wants more.

Sequel to a book I’ve not read and don’t really have interest in going back and reading that first
