This was wonderful! Full of small village charm, romance, a hilarious book club and a fabulous MMC.
This one had a bit of a slow start, but boy those last 100pp really got me!
I really enjoyed this story! It was a cute and adequately sappy romance with quite a few laughs mixed in. The book club in this book was amazing. I'm always a fan of a romance that involves a grump who comes around to be sweet and kind. I love winter/Christmas romances and this definitely delivered for me. I would absolutely read more romances from this author because I find them to be heartwarming and satisfying.

I thought this was adorable and I really enjoyed the setting! I also loved that the main character was in her 40s because I don’t feel like that’s incredibly common. Overall a very enjoyable read

My first and only book with the holiday/christmassy theme. I like the overall them of second chances and it having short chapters. I just find it too long for the story, too many things unnecessary and can be shorten by 70-100 pages and still it won’t affect the story. There are lots of characters - main ad side ones - that some are forgettable. Not much of a romance / love story but more of women’s literary fiction.

I just could not get into A Season for Second Chances. I really enjoyed Jenny Bayliss's, The Twelve Dates of Christmas, but this one just didn't do it for me. I did enjoy the suspense towards the end of the book. That was the only time I was unable to put the book down. Otherwise, it was just OK.
When Annie moved into Willow Bay, all the neighbors welcomed her with open arms. She loved the charming house she was meant to look after and all of the history that went with it. The only person who didn't enjoy Annie's presence in town was John, the nephew of the homeowner.
Things I really enjoyed:
Annie jumped right in and kept the traditions alive for the Saltwater Nook.
John and Annie's dislike for each other and the chemistry between them.
Alfred. He kept me intrigued in the book. He was the main reason I kept reading. I needed to know what happened with him.
Things I didn't enjoy:
The book club chats, I feel like it was a waste of a chapter.
The whole chapter on Mr. Knightley, again, a waste of a chapter.
I wasn't able to relate to any of the characters. I just feel like I couldn't put myself in any of their shoes.

A fun Christmas read. My favorite book by this author!
