While there were some fun moments in the community of Willow Lake, overall it fell flat for me. The love interest wasn’t introduced until about halfway through the book and there was really nothing that pulled them to each other. Annie’s ex was also described as menacing but nothing he did was actually that scary. It seemed in many ways that this was a case of telling, not showing and it made for a disappointing read.

Also… where was the second chance? Who was getting a second chance?

Over all really liked it. However it was less Christmas than I wanted. Since it goes thru a whole year or maybe longer it was not always set at Christmas time but the story was cute!
