Closed door romance with quite a bit of language.

A fall/winter romance, beginning in September and ending around Christening time. Lots of holiday themed (not just Christmas but a fall community calendar) activities mentioned to make it feel festive-y.

The first chapter starts off with the main character walking away from a cheating husband. He’s my least favorite part of this book, but I suppose a necessary evil.

The main character begins a book club as she starts her new life and the book club actually discusses rea books, which was fun.

Overall, I could see myself recommending this to specific people, but it’s not for everyone.

Characters were flat and felt like they were going through the motions of the plot without real conviction or emotion behind them. Setting was cozy and made up for the lack of charm/believability of the characters.

3.5 - cute & heartwarming. loved the community Annie found & the new life she built for herself. The romance was secondary, but definitely played on the victorian romances which her book club was reading. Sweet & redemptive story overall
