Eh, not my jam. Not enough holiday charm or exciting romance, it all felt rushed at the end. Wanted a different book. The seaside town part was delightful but wanted more holidays

There are some readers that are going to LOVE this one! A 44 year old Annie catches her husband cheating. Again. Final straw well and truly located she leaves him, their home and thriving business.

Annie ends up as a 6 month tenant I  Saltwater Nook, an old house on the very edge of the coast in a small community that is still very much alive. Annie gets involved in all the festivities the locals love, opens up the Nook as a cafe and starts to rebuild her life.

I think I may have the same issue with this book as I do books like Eat, Pray, Love - I'm not divorced. I don't connect with it the same way. It was fine, I found I really cared about Alfred the homeless man living in the caves and the support the locals give him is wonderful. Annie and her friends all seemed great too.

What a Charming holiday read! I actually got this book last Christmas and forgot to read it. I’m so glad i got to pick it up this year. Annie a 40 something year old restaurant owner going through a midlife crises after she’s catches her husband cheating (AGAIN). Determined to leave him this time she escapes to a cute/quirky seaside town. She decides to get a short lease to house sit for a local , and reopen the cafe in the home. She meets some of the locals and falls so in love with them and the town. But She’s got to deal with the owner of the house’s grumpy overprotective nephew AND her groveling soon to be ex-husband all while trying to decide her next move.
Annie was such a relatable and delightful character. I enjoyed her character grown through the book. Her finding herself outside of being a mom and wife. It was such a cute cozy read, with a slow burn romance. No spice but honestly I’ve been enjoying the spice break I’ve been taking lately. I will soon be adding some more of this authors books to my tbr soon.
