I really found myself struggling to dive into this book. I’d read one chapter at a time for days, and my mind was just always drifting away.
But I finally sat and finished it. And I liked the plot a lot. I just didn’t love the love story. The parents? Their love story? Got to my heart way more from what we learned. But the actual love story the plot revolved around? It felt very rushed to me. No real build up. And why it fell apart just didn’t feel like it had a good reason. I wanted to love it so much more than I did.

Who doesn't love a good second-chance romance!!! Especially one that unfolds like a Hollywood movie script—this story pulled me in from the very beginning! Kaliya is a relatable and likeable FMC who’s stuck behind the reception desk at a film studio, feeling the weight of years spent sidelining her dreams. She’s always been passionate about movies and production, but life somehow got in the way, and she hasn’t truly chased her goals in a long time.
Enters Danny Prescott—her college ex, now a rising name in the film world—who reappears in her life seven years later with an unexpected offer: a job on his next movie. Just like that, Kaliya is faced with the possibility of finally changing her path. The chemistry between them is still undeniable, but things are more complicated now. Very good romance book, I loved the narrative being a quarter life crisis. Finding old love and renewing it again, it also tells you a bit about how the film industry works.
