Romance done right; character development, independent, strong characters, and classy. You may find yourself rooting for the main characters the whole way through.

I loved a lot of things about this book. I enjoyed reading it, and I was really impressed with Myah Ariel’s writing. I loved the inside look into the good and bad of Hollywood and what goes into making a feature film. The feature film being made in this novel is about the interracial love story between Danny’s parents, Nathan and Minnie. We see small glimpses of their story during the course of the production, and I really liked those parts. Also, Bella was my girl! That nepo baby worked her way into my heart and made me laugh out loud a few times.

But I did not love Danny. There were a few instances that if they had been done differently or at a different point in the novel, he would’ve completely won me over. But as the narrative stands, Danny Prescott does not make my list of book boyfriends. And I think that’s okay.

MMC aside, I thought this was a solid debut from Myah Ariel, and I would absolutely read her next book. Because of the Hollywood setting, I could also see this adapted for the screen one day.
