Wow, what a debut! I love a second-chance romance that gets you invested in the characters and in their second chance at love. Kaylia and Danny definitely loved each other until they got it right, and they deserved their second chance. The third act breakup killed me because I thought they were in the clear, but the more I think about it, I might have to agree that it was necessary for Danny and Kaylia to be the best version of themselves together.
When I think of You is romantic as fuck, a beautiful Black romance, and has spectacular music and film recommendations. I will definitely be reading the next novel by Myah Ariel!

Absolutely not because I hate Danny and u can never make me like him. He's an emotionally manipulative menace and I felt like i was reading 300 plus pages of this woman being put thru the wringer by this phuck boy! Then her ass was just enduring that ish for years like girl please get tf up because this ain't it. This is a "second chance romance" and all the flashbacks of their past relationship made it very clear he was an ass since forever which only magnified my annoyance because again why r we doin this??? Im actively rooting for them NOT to be together.
The positives...the author actually writes well it's written fine and the pace was decent I'd be interested in reading another book by her long as it's u know an actual romance with characters I'd want to see be together that u know are swoon and showcase actual love. The side characters of Neha and Bella were also great.
So yea this was a big no for me and I think I also strongly dislike the second chance romance trope as well as a whole. I need to start reading the synopsis of these romances 😂😂

I liked the overall tone and the majority of characters in this book. I also liked all the information about making movies, it was interesting. I didn’t really like how this love story was dragged out multiple times because of decision made by the main character. She kept self sabotaging her relationship for no reason. But I really liked everything else about it.
