I really liked this book. It was just what I needed and I related to Kaliya a lot. It was simple, but it was real and the storyline just made sense. A true “if it’s meant to be, it will happen” book

Kaliya and Danny are actually the most unserious people on Earth and their commitment to not communicating with each other should be studied. All that to say I did love seeing their love story play out. This was a really amazing read where readers are almost watching history repeat itself with how Kaliya and Danny keep trying their hardest to push the other away. Their chemistry was electric and the author did an amazing job at building up their romance again while still dropping hints of their past and how it ended before the full reveal. Kaliya was a great main character to read from she was very personable and I was never bored while being in her mind. This was just really cute, infuriating at times, but really cute.

So sweet but that third act breakup was so unnecessary and the epilogue events were maybe two much too soon considering all the back and forth.
like they got back together after already being together and then broke up and got back together again. This could’ve ended after the stuff at his mom’s house.

Hmmm… I should have known this book would frustrate me when they said Love and Basketball was a classic love story. Let’s be so fr
And if anyone everrrr had evidence someone was trying to sabotage my career and you kept the evidence from me. Blocked immediately. Get out of my face

It was just back and forth and it’s like they haven’t really mentioned what happened for then to separate. It’s dragging a bit for me.

I can’t believe this is Ariel’s debut novel! What a lovely and fun read. The author does a great job of layering complexity with lightheartedness. I could tell the author put a lot of care into the main character. The romance was also very very cute and down to earth. Perhaps there can be a book to film adaptation 👀 All in all, this was a fun book to read during my winter break from grad school.
