I enjoyed this second-chance romance about a hot-shot Hollywood director and his production assistant. The themes of racism, colorism, and nepotism in Hollywood are intriguing, especially about how light-skinned individuals are used to fill quotas of employing POCs. Some cliches didn't quite convince me of the duo's chemistry, but overall, WITOY is a strong debut. I can't wait to read more from Ariel!

I loved watching their live story progress
Myah Ariel delivers a poignant story about self-determination, risk and a Black staying true to her dreams despite all odds. This is her debut novel and I look forward to reading more from her. I felt seen after reading this novel in 72 hours. I felt inspired to write after having significant writers block. WRITE ON BLACK GIRL TO MYAH!
HIGH 4 stars. the third act break up really had me mad but I LOVE THEM GETTING BACK TOGETHER!!! Her saying “you were never the center you were the gravity” TEARS !!!!!! Also it didn’t seem cheesy or cliche. I really enjoyed this wow

2.5/5 ⭐️ It was a cute second chance romance. However, the FMC started to get annoying towards the end of the book, and the third act fell short for me. I also believe that that the single POV hindered the story from its full potential.
