One of my fav books of 2024….WOW!
One of the most beautifully written love stories I’ve come across. I feel like Myah was a poet because she a clear and creative way of not only writing but making you feel the words. I characters felt so real. She’s one of my favorite author now

I was gonna give this a 4, because the story was well written and I actually enjoyed reading about this second chance romance in addition to the drama that entailed in the book. I think one major flaw was that, there was a lot of pushing and pulling with the MCs and honestly Danny specifically wasn’t necessarily the best book boyfriend lol but that’s just me. Nonetheless, the story was still a good read that I would recommend to someone.

Film student working dead end job as a receptionist at a film studio, comes face-to-face with college ex, who has made it to the big leagues. Her life generally sucks!
Now the “ex” has offered her a job and all we want to know is what did the man do to hurt her back in college. (Silent prayer: Please don’t take the whole book to reveal reason).
Then the man has to rescind the job offer due to Hollywood nepotism…Luciferian ass indeed (cackle)
A black woman saying she is use to being cast aside..hurts my heart! I appreciate this being the subplot of the book - black women accessing space in places we have often been denied.
Love that his best friend is interested in her, sometime you need a reminder that you are BAD - in the words of Usher not Michael.
Finally copulation and while a shower scene is completely sexy it is highly implausible
I love Danny, he is incredibly attentive and knows exactly what to say…I wish more men realized how alluring words really are
A love that completely consumes you sounds romantic and usually hits a fever pitch before crashes to an end. Kaliya and Danny have crashed and burned several times but make it to their HEA after all!

This was a relatable story with the second chance love, the FMC kinda irritated me with her back and forth but the MMC was pissin me off too but his accountability was TOO TIER!!! I’m happy with how it panned out. Definitely gave me all the feels! Great story

I was about halfway through this when I found out this was the author’s debut novel. Wow! I loved seeing the flashbacks and I do enjoy a good second chance romance trope so that helped too.
A reminder that things that are worth it aren’t always the easiest to get right the first time and that patience and communication go a long way.
Honestly could have done without the epilogue, but still enjoyed the ending.

I enjoyed this book but it was always too easy to put down. I think overall it had great messages and things to say but the characters bogged this down and none of the motives or reasonings had my bought in.
