I actually cannot
Connor cobalt owns my entire heart
Scott is so annoying and I hope they get revenge on him
I didn’t know how I would feel about the whole reality tv show thing but I loved it. I felt like I was watching a reality show and I loved that they lived in the same house together.
I love Rose and Connor with my entire heart, I loved seeing Lo and Lily but I did enjoy reading from another perspective. I cannot wait to get to Ryke and Daisy in the next book!
I was in tears by the end of this book.

There’s no way I can write a review that will do this book justice. No way. I’m going to attempt it anyway.
Kiss The Sky is the first book in the Calloway Sisters spinoff series of the Addicted series. Wow, that’s such a mouthful. Anyway, if you’ve read the Addicted series then you’ve already met these characters. In the Addicted series Lily and Lo are the main couple but now it’s the secondary characters to shine. I already loved these characters, but I love them even more after reading their story.
So Kiss The Sky is Rose and Connor’s book and it was everything that I dreamed it would be. I had one hell of a good time while reading this story. It was oh-so-wonderful. I can’t say this enough: these books are addicting.
The writing, oh my god, it’s seriously so great. Every emotion is felt while reading Kiss The Sky, and the other books, your heart will race, you will laugh, you will feel everything. ALL THE FEELS.
Calloway Couture has been suffering since Lily’s addiction was revealed to the public. Rose has the perfect plan to turn things around before things get worse. She signs everyone up to do a reality TV show. Rose, Connor, Lily, Lo, Daisy and Ryke will all live in the same home and be filmed by 3 cameramen. Everyone together, causes a lot of drama for the show.
Now about the characters. Rose is fiercely independent. She’s also feisty, snarky, and a virgin. She’s completely okay with how her life is, because she doesn’t need a man to complete her. She’s strong and can take care of herself. You all know how much I love female characters who are strong and kickass and that is what Rose is. Connor is super smart and arrogant. He doesn’t believe in true love. He’s an asshole but he cares a lot about Rose. He doesn’t let people in much, and has a hard time admitting his feelings.
The banter, chemistry, sparks, everything was there between these two. It was hella fun watching them argue and be competitive with each other. Neither of them likes to lose.
Rose does have a fear, though. She thinks that once Connor takes her virginity then he won’t want her anymore. It terrifies her. Connor freaking adores Rose, but she’s still afraid.
It was so refreshing to read Kiss The Sky from both Rose and Connor’s point of view. I really loved seeing what they were both thinking.
Oh, boy. When Rose and Connor do get together, for sexy times, it’s VERY steamy. Connor is an alpha male and super-duper hot.
Kiss The Sky was more than what I hoped it would be. It was a whole lot of awesome, great banter, amazing characters, unique story line, smokin’ hot scenes, hilarious, some drama, and even had a villain who I would like to punch in the face.
Krista & Becca Ritchie are amazing. They have managed to write a series that is original, refreshing, and each character has a distinctive voice. These characters feel real. These stories feel real. They’re addicting. You won’t be able to flip through the pages fast enough. You will be hooked. The Addicted and Calloway series is by far my favorite NA series on the market right now.
Some quotes from Kiss The Sky:
“You’re not a pit stop. You’re my finish line. There’s no one after you.”
“People hope to touch the sky. I dream of kissing it.”
“Well, Connor doesn’t believe in magic. If Hogwarts actually existed I’m sure they’d send an owl to shit on his head.”
“I’ve wanted so many things in life, but you’re the one that has meant the most to me.”
“She was a genius on paper. But not a team player. She was quick to loathe others. But not against loving. She was a complicated equation that didn’t need to be solved.”
“You leave a trail of bodies with your glares.”

I was so bogged down by the stress from uni, jobs, family and basically life in general but then I cracked this book open and everything about it makes me so happy and confident and bursting with energy and damn yes, I just want to kiss the sky and never come back down.
Where to start....
This book confused me so much. The prologue from Connor's P.O.V then the 5 year jump to Rose having an interview was not it. I thought Connor was Scott making him Rose's boss and that her boyfriend was someone else, because I didn't think that the book would skip them getting into a relationship. The time skip pissed me off cause I got none of the 'enemies-to-lovers/rivals-to-lovers' that I wanted and was kinda being set up in the prologue.
The whole plot of the book was basically Connor wanting to take Rose's V-card and have sex with her. And she obviously wanted to have sex as well but she had a problem with giving up control - completely understandable, everyone has their limits - but the fact that it was all their relationship was riding on was...strange? I don't know. Something seems very off about their relationship - their rivalry and constant bickering doesn't seem healthy. But they do them I guess.
When they finally did have sex, or things close to it, it made me sick. I swear I threw up more than once. The collar and the way the intercourse was described just wasn't it.
Now to the ACTUAL story, the reality show. SCOTT IS THE WORST! WHAT THE FUCK???
He was a pain in the arse from the beginning, when he asked Rose to bend down in front of him and he forced himself into the family/friend reality show thing and tried to make him look good. TO the outside, he really did look good and I know that if I was actually watching this show, I would want Scott with Rose, rather than Connor. This book really made me think about all the shit and scandals we see on reality TV shows and made me think about how much of it is fake to try and speak the narrative of what the producers want from the people.
And I HATE that they somehow made it legal (it was cause stupid Rose signed the contract) to sell them naked and stuff in the shower and the bedroom. I HATE IT. I feel violated just reading it so I feel for the characters - especially Rose and Connor since it was their sex tape that got leaked.
I really want to read the rest of this series to see if it improves and if it gets better in Ryke and Daisy's relationship - if the next book was about Connor and Rose I would probably in a reading slump. I don't know. Considering how the next book goes, I might change this star rating.

okay so firstly, I really enjoyed the books from the addicted series and most of them were 5 star reads for me. I was really excited to finally read from Rose’s and Connor’s pov & it wasn’t completely bad.. however, it took me really long to read this book (also partly because of school) but also because I really hated how they were so many characters in this book that really weren’t it. It was just simply annoying at some points, whenever Scott or Daisy’s supposed Boyfriend (I literally forgot his name because he was such an asshole) came up in the book. There were simply too many bad characters in this book.
Another thing that I didn’t really think was needed was the many many smut in this book. Rose was a virgin at the start of kiss the sky and after she lost it with Connor, ever second following chapter they were sleeping with each other.. it’s not like I’m a smut anti or smth lmaoo but like I think it’s not as exciting and special anymore if there’s too much of it, does that make sense? For lily and Loren it made sense I mean, Lily is a sex addict so yeah but like idk..
so yeah that’s why I gave this only 3/5. However, Connor’s & Rose’s Relationship really set my standard way higher than it already was. They’re literally made for each other.
Hopefully Hothouse flower will meet my expectations :)) I can’t wait to read about Daisy & Ryke.

Read this one years ago, a good reminder that people are more than their addictions and flaws. Also, the drama!!!
4.75 stars (updating the rating bc hothouse flower is already more of a 5 star read than this one butttt clearly i still love it)
