This was a good prequel to a series that I liked. It gave a good background, which made the other books in the series have more context. You got information about the disease, why it spread, and why the world became like this in the first place. It was slowly unfolded for you, which proves good writing.

As I was reading this I was waiting for that "AH HA!!" moment when I realized how this all tied into Maze Runner. But it was more of a ... "Oh, huh?" I'm still not really sure??? Is there maybe a sequel to this book that would be the REAL prequel to Maze Runner? Really strange. Not a bad book on it's own - as post-apocalyptic books go it's pretty standard "teens rule the world" and everything totally sucks stuff.

If you didn't have the expectation that it was a prequel it might be better.

There's only two things that I found worthwhile about this book. One, finding out how the Flare originated. Two, learning about Teresa and Thomas' past. The rest of the story was incredibly difficult to push through, and poorly developed.

lost interest half way through the book, but kept going. the very last chapter was what tied this prequel to the series.

מה לעזאזל קראתי?!
הספר הזה קרה לפני "הרץ במבוך" עם תומס.
הלוואי ויגידו לי מה קרה לשאר הדמויות בספר הזה.
