“I wish we lived like children. Run till you are out of breath, flop on the grass, stare at clouds, jump up again, chase a squirrel around every tree in the park, walk on your hands because the world looks different upside down, climb little hills and roll down the other side, do somersaults . . . just because you can. What do we do instead? We surround ourselves with all these big and small blinking screens, while our bodies and minds slowly forget how to tumble, how to wonder, how to live.”
Twinkle Khanna has maintained her humour throughout the book. Personally, the book was not that fascinating but it was a joyful read, I didn’t get bored because we get to see a little behind the scene of the former actress/entrepreneur/author’s life and shares her perspectives on feminism, patriarchy, our Indian culture and how she manages her way through as an entrepreneur, a daughter, a wife and a mother. I couldn’t relate much as I’m not a married woman and well, she’s still a celebrity (somehow) but definitely connected with her brilliant views on feminism and how is it like to be growing up in an Indian household. I’ve always admired her boldness and frank demeanour. One of the reasons why her books were gifted to me.
“After fourteen years of matrimony, I have discovered that hoping your other half telepathically reads your mind only leads to someone wanting to punch the other in the face”
Her witty advices was everything. I’m not going to lie, I had a good laugh agreeing to all that advices. Overall, this is a light-hearted read and you’ll be left with “pfft right!” “damn, girl!” at certain parts. This book is for all women and if you’re into some feminist humour and a quick read, this book would be perfect for you.

Well here is my first pick for the #SavePusthakarajya hosted by the Indian Literature Readathon — where I decided to play the role of a jester.
Hello my bookish pumpkins, have you ever thought a book in the humor genre can teach you life lessons? Well I didn't. On the cover it's written-” She's just like you and lot like me”, I just wondered what would I, a crazy teenager, probably find in common with the middle-aged protagonist with two cute children and a celebrity husband ? But to be honest I did. The book was so engrossing because of Twinkle Khanna's witty narration. (I finished it in one setting

I am a simple man. I read a funny book, I like it.
Would everyone find this funny? Probably not.

What was the hoopla about?
The book was released and I read raving reviews of it over many a social media websites and that worked up my curiosity and excitement for a book by a celebrity. I went and bought a copy.
As I started reading those alphabetical chapters I wondered what was even happening in there.
Though there were times when the book made me laugh, for almost the entirety of it it felt like reading someone's diary. That endeavour may be full of excitement to begin with but gets boring pretty fast. The same happened with me but I persevered and finished it nonetheless. It is not as if it was putting a strain on my brain when I am reading nothing but how one woman is being a wise crack almost all the time.
The most annoying bit of it was the going overboard with 'man of the house', 'the prodigal son', the baby' and 'mother dearest'. Twinkle Khanna being a celebrity, almost everyone knows who these people are. SH could have gone ahead and just used the names in some places to make it a little less annoying but...
A pretty fast read as half of it nothing but illustrations.

An okay book. Sure, it was funny at times and insightful but the truth is if it wasn't written by someone famous, I don't think it will have garnered as much attention and praise.

it was okay. nothing mind blowing. entertaining enough, but i did not take away anything from it.
It was a delightful read. I hadn't expected much before starting it, but it was suprisingly very insightful.
