A beautiful book with up close pictures of different insects and spiders. The text is simple and poetic but doesn't rhyme. The words are easy in the main part of the book and goes into detail about each featured bug in the back. Recommended for preschool storytime.

After reading Nasty Bugs by Lee Bennett Hopkins (a collection of insect poetry), this one is like it's complete opposite. A picture book in verse with real photos of insects (and a spider or two) in nature. Beautifully done.

The photographs of insects are lovely and detailed, and the text is simple yet evocative. This will be a nice addition to a bug storytime. I appreciated the inclusion of information about each insect at the end of the book.
