I adored A Wild Card Kiss. fuschia boots, ax throwing, a drag queen, 80's night, and Monkey Bread.

Let's just get down to it, a bride who caught her mom kissing her soon-to-be groom on her wedding day……this had my attention and I knew this was going to be an entertaining read. I was not disappointed. Katie is sassy, vivacious, and fun-loving. Harlan is charming, flirty, and sexy. These two kept me turning the pages. They have undeniable chemistry and a promise of a future relationship but the timing is never right.

Harlan and Katie meet at a wedding seven years ago. The next time they see each other, it's Katie in a wedding dress…….and fuschia boots sitting at a bowling alley bar. Even though the timing is still wrong they go on an adventure to a costume shop and 80's dance club. When fall comes they are optimistic that the timing is finally right and the 3rd time is a charm. Until his team hires her to teach yoga, making him a client. Faced with a team no fraternization policy and a no dating clients policy, these two resist their chemistry and a friendship develops as they consider their options and wait for their time to come.

I loved their chemistry and the way their relationship develops. Their connection felt real. I loved their flirty interactions, in person and through text. The book was entertaining and an easy read. I absolutely adored Harlan and his daughter Abby's relationship….they bake pies together and love Dolly ❤️

Katie Madigan is having the worst day of her life: she has just walked on her ficancé kissing another woman, minutes before they are to exchange vows. And the woman? Her own mother!!! She flees the scene of her shattered wedding dreams  with the help of her dad, her sister, and her friends and heads straight into the bowling alley down the street. To her utter surprise, Harlan Taylor (whom we met in The Virgin Replay), local football hero walks in. He's "the one who got away" - they had a monumental, epic hookup at a wedding eight years ago, tried to take it further but life got in the way. Apparently, Fate wants them to reunite. Sadly, their timing has never been great. Maybe this time?
The audiobook starts with the prequel novella that was released for free a little before the book came out, so you get to know how Harlan and Katie first met. We find her now heading her successful "yoga empire" and Harlan is the devoted single dad of an adorable six-year-old girl.
This is a romantic, swoony, steamy, low angst football romance. Harlan is equally swoony as a hero and single dad. You also get introduced to some new wonderful characters (or see one from a previous book - Jason, from All in With Him - listen to the author's note) that will be getting their own stories.
Narration: Erin Mallon as the sassy Katie is amazing. Zachary Webber kills it as usual and you get to listen to him voice little Abby, and we all know his kid voices are adorable. Cameos by Teddy Hamilton, Julia Whelan and a sort story narrated by Blake Lockheart.
LOVED IT!
Possible Triggers: cheating (not MCs), toxic relationship with a parent

**I received this book as an ARC in return for my honest review**

I loved this audiobook! Sometimes you have to make your own timing and go for what, or who, you want. With so many starts and stops between Harlan and Katie, their road to a happy ending is a great journey for us to follow along. They’re amazing together, and so are the rest of the characters in the story. It’s great to see old friends again (hi Cooper and Jones!) and I can’t wait to continue this series and discover the stories for the others. I’m sure they’re just as entertaining as this book was!

It isn’t necessary to enjoy this book, but I do recommend reading the prequel novella before diving into this one. It’s such a great and steamy meet cute!
