I picked up this book in a tiny book shop in St. George, Bermuda on a training cruise.

The main character opened my eyes to a new world and though I hold fast to my Christian values, I took a lot away from Athena and the other characters of this book. It was written from individual perspectives, collected and compiled by a completely separate person who does not give his opinion. I've never read a book like this. I found that I would disregard some opinions (chapters) and completely accept others. Thus making Athena who I want her to be! Each reader will probably do the same in affect making this a completely different story from what I have just read. Enlightening and creative. I really enjoyed this book!

my least favorite of coelho's. and i'm a big fan.

I can't say I enjoyed this book but I'm glad I read it. I think it's great for discussion. About what we learn from others & ourselves, perception vs. reality, etc. I'm still mulling it over.

Paolo’s writing style is in the “epic” genre and this is right in line. It’s like listening to the climax of a Hans Zimmer soundtrack song for 300 pages. Just too over the top for me.

I wanted to love this book. But...I don't know. Maybe I'm too ingrained in the spirit-less, scientific way of the modern world to really appreciate Finding The Mother. I believe many of the things Athena says are true, that "Love is." and that surrendering to fate will lead you to a more complete life than fulfilling societal goals or going by the book. Life will be hard, but it will be worthwhile.

I may have read this book in like 2 or 3 days but god were they the longest days of my life it was so boring.

She was a witch because they labeled her as such not because she was doing fantasy witchcraft just new age  “magic”

"La bruja de Portobello" es una libro que me atrapó por su enfoque único al presentar a Athena, la protagonista, a través de los ojos de quienes la conocieron. Este estilo narrativo no solo hace que la historia sea dinámica, sino que también refleja cómo cada persona ve una faceta distinta de alguien.
La novela me hizo reflexionar sobre la importancia de la espiritualidad en nuestro crecimiento personal y cómo abrirse a nuevas perspectivas puede enriquecer nuestra visión del mundo.
