"A calculating killer who calls himself The Teacher is taking on New York City, killing the powerful and the arrogant. His message is clear: remember your manners or suffer the consequences! For some, it seems that the rich are finally getting what they deserve. For New York's elite, it is a call to terror.

Only one man can tackle such a high-profile case: Detective Mike Bennett. The pressure is enough for anyone, but Mike also has to care for his 10 children-all of whom have come down with virulent flu at once!

Discovering a secret pattern in The Teacher's lessons, Detective Bennett realizes he has just hours to save New York from the greatest disaster in its history." (From Amazon)

A bit boring.

I actually really like James Patterson, but the last couple of books I've read I've just not enjoyed. Part of it is that near the end, it seems like instead of spending the time to actually finish the story off well, they just throw something together. It's always super predictable and disappointing. This one isn't any different.

Barb and I listened to this on our way to Fl to celebrate my mom's 88th birthday. Easy, enjoyable listen that made the time go quickly.

Solid detective novel chasing a vigilante killer in NYC.

This was the second time I had read this book. It was good to read it again as you forget the details. I like Michael Bennett as the hero. The book moves quickly and the chapters are shared between Michael’s 1st person POV and the third person narrator when seeing things from The Teacher’s POV.

"You know you're in for a rough day when, the instant you wake up, you're already overwhelmed."

Michael Bennett was exactly that: overwhelmed. His brood of children were all suffering from the flu, while there was a maniac killer murdering seemingly random people around New York. Bennett is able to find the pattern and is in a race against time to save the rich and elite people who the killer "The Teacher" is after.

A good book that reads like an action movie. I didn't particularly like anything about the characters but I didn't hate it either. The story was awesome and the villain was pretty cool. It's a quick read I don't know if I would read another book out of this Michael Bennett series, I felt like there was no detail put into secondary characters.

Overall, it was different from other Patterson books I've read but it was still half decent.
