I didn’t finish. About 3 hours into the audiobook and I didn’t care.
4.5. It was slow moving at first but when the story picked up, it really picked up. If you want a book that tugs you around and around, but still ties up ALL loose ends, this is the one for you

Halfway through the first page, I told everyone who would listen how beautiful the writing was. I would have kept reading for the writing alone, but the story was compelling and it helped me believe in miracles.
3.5 stars. It started off quite slowly and was difficult to follow at times, but it improved in the second half and was beautifully written throughout
A tale told of a community who live by the river in a time before cars, radio or entertainment of any kind other than the stories that are told after a few drinks at the local ale house. The characters are richly developed and we come to learn of the sad loss of three small girls in the community. When the river brings one such small girl to the village, all are sure she is their lost girl.

One of the most original tales I’ve read in a long time. Intricately plotted.
Loved The Thirteenth Tale and now loved this. Can’t wait for another from the author!
