I really liked the small sections on the emotional process of healing; it is really important to see I’m not alone in feeling frustrated and confused sometimes. After reading this book, I feel like I can start to build a list of all the recipes that work for me and have a good plan going forward after this first month of AIP.

I appreciate all the lovely bloggers who take the time to develop and share recipes for those of us with autoimmune conditions, so I don't want to come down too hard on this book, because I'm sure it did take quite some work and it does look very nice, with lovely photos and clearly typeset recipes. However, I found myself regretting getting this book.
For starters, I expected more from it considering it's over 30 bucks. I can think of several other books of this kind that offer more value compared to how much they cost.
I understand that she wanted to offer recipes for the elimination phase as well as reintroductions, but that's a lofty goal, and this book came up short. It should have contained many more recipes than it does, to be truly useful in getting one through the reintro process. Maybe she should have considered focusing on elimination phase recipes, and just adding modifications for the various reintroduction phases.
As it is, the recipes left me somewhat unimpressed. Nothing really screamed "make me right now" except maybe the lemon bar ice cream, which is a dessert, so I didn't rush to make it for obvious reasons.
I ended up reading the book cover to cover and tabbing all the recipes that sounded somewhat appealing, in an effort to make myself more excited about using it; but it still has been spending a lot of time on the shelf, unfortunately.
I did make the artichoke-and-bacon stuffed pork chops and my husband really liked them, so I will keep trying to give the book a chance to impress me!
