Such a good book!!! Still in denial that the series has ended! :( I loved the decent size amount of ending not just based on the events before like a fight scene. This book haas way better views like love.

So now that I've finished the Mortal Instruments series, what do I do with my life?

Truthfully not my favorite of the series, that crown is still worn by City of Ashes.

I was a little disappointed with it overall. I never enjoy new characters being added to final installments, especially if we as readers are supposed to be invested in these characters. Emma, Julian and all the Blackthorn children I just didn't find them to be all that integral to the plot past the prologue. Adding them their POV's to help tell the story just seemed to add length to the story, nothing more.

I was also disappointed in Cassandra Clare hyping up the theme of "Who will survive?" Again after a year of anticipation she ended up killing who I felt were insignificant, secondary characters. It's cruel to the reader to hype up something like that only to take the easy, Stephenie Meyer, way out.

Perhaps it's the writer in me but for a book that was all about war between the Shadowhunters & Sebastian's Endarkened it was wrapped up in too nice a package for me. The ending just did not seem realistic to an extent, too many loopholes to create happy endings when there should have been grieving and closure.

I was glad that there was an overall completion to the series; but I wasn't truly satisfied with the ending. The ending felt more like it was written by a fan fiction writer rather than an author that intended to create something dynamic and thrilling.
