This was a beautifully crafted slowburn/opposite attract romance. The banter between the 2 main characters was excellent. I liked experiencing their fights as much as much as I liked experiencing their love. I love the way the author showed the complicated, sometimes unhealthy familial relationships that people can have. And I really loved how honest and blunt each of our main characters' respective friends were with them. There was no sugar coating, and there was no placating. They were supportive but honest, and sometimes we need that in our lives. It was a really good read that I enjoyed all the way through.

A chef romance set in my own backyard — yes, please! I would consider this a semi-slow burn with serious substance. Witty and alluring with okay MC chemistry upfront. In the end though, I can't decide if the feuding felt forced in the first half or the spice felt forced in the second half because around the 65% mark everything went from a 0-100 then back to zero while both characters unpack lots grief and childhood trauma. Either way, my favorite character was by far Nicole (FMC's BFF). 2.5 Stars rounded up for the nostalgic-to-me setting and delicious behind the scenes of authoring a cookbook.

Thank you to St. Martin's Griffin for providing an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This one got off to a rocky start, with the two MCs stubbornly clinging to their own fears and pain and it was difficult to see how they will get past this to work together. But once they did, I really enjoyed the two of them together. There was so much heartache in this and I thought the slow romance development suited their situations and their personalities.

4.5⭐️

This book really was a slow burn, but in the best possible way! When it begins to burn, it really burns! I thought Ellie and Kieran had sizzling chemistry! I loved watching them go from butting heads on how to write the cook book, to better understanding each other and coming up with extraordinarily ideas! Even thought they are complete opposites, the mesh extremely well and bring out the best in each other! I love how the book handled topics like grief, dyslexia, and ADHD with sensitivity and care! Overall this was a super cute book that was definitely a fun time and kept me entertained the whole way through!

I like the components of grief and healing especially with family involved but not one did I feel like either party had that much chemistry and the descriptions were weird
