I love Talon and Calista more and more with each book and I'm already dreading the fact that the series will be ending so soon, but I'm hopingggg for a HEA (Penelope I'm looking at you ma'am- lol.) I can't wait to see what the next book has in store for us!
Side note: I was reading on my lunch at work and my coworker noticed the title and immediately asked me all about the book. He said he's obsessed with any book with dragons (but also loves some spiceee) so I told him all about Penelope and her amazing fantasy books! He will be starting the Death series this weekend!

The ending of this book absolutely saved the rating for me. I think the plot got a bit lost in the center and was very slow, but around 65% it picked back up and I blew through the last bit in one sitting. Excellent pace at the end, and even a cliff hanger (it was predictable but still great). I’m excited to see if the death king will deliver and how this war is going to end. I’m a sucker for a great battle scene. Thanks to Penelope sky for giving me an ARC copy of this novel!

Wow! This one came as a banger! Loved to see Calista and Talon's relationship deepening. And the dragons! Holy guacamole the dragons!
Penelope appropriately describes them as mighty and beautiful beasts. The world building was never too much. This book was a perfect blend between the love story, friendship, allyship, and sacrifice.
I am very much waiting for the end of this series. I am really sad to see Calista and Talon go. But nonetheless, my heart always waits for Barsetti's next book!
I requested the audiobook on NetGalley from Dreamscape Media after viewing the book cover and reading the description. I was so excited to begin, only to quickly realize this is not, in fact, the first book of the series, but rather, the third.
I continued listening to the entire first two chapters before deciding if I would continue or not given the circumstances. I ended up choosing to continue on and I'm so glad I did!
I definitely missed the character and relationship development and world building from the first two books, but a testament to Penelope Barsetti's writing, because even though I jumped in partway through the series I didn't feel lost at all!
I really liked all the characters and loved the dragons! I am definitely interested in circling back around and starting the series from the beginning.
Narrators Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job. Ramona Master always delivers a stellar performance and she did not disappoint in this one!

This book… this whole series… is, hands down, one of THE best series I have ever read. I’m a dragon fan.. and Khazmuda and Inferno.. they just make me love dragons more and more. This whole story, the way Talon comes in and does what the does (I’m not telling what it is, you’ll have to read it!!) just made him all the more a favorite hero for me. After learning his secret, and getting to know his heart and how he really feels about Calista (whom I have loved from the very beginning!!), it’s hard to think about him having to live up to the deal he made…. It makes me sad to think about it.
I am a huge Penelope Sky fan and have been since I read the very first book of hers I read. And this series is spectacular! I have been fully wooed by her writing style and her detail. She is so good at letting us know who each character is with the details of their lives and their characters. Talon might have started off cold and rough.. but oh how different he is now. I’m so taken with him that I need more.. and more.. but there’s only one book left!!! I don’t know if my heart can take the end… because… Bahamut… I’m not liking him much… I’m hoping he redeems himself, and surprises me. What do YOU think will happen???
I didn't think I could love Talon any more than I already did but Penelope Barsetti has proved me wrong once again! I have absolutely adored watching the relationship between Talon and Calista develop! That ending has me on the edge of my seat and I can't see a way for Talon to get out of the terrible situation he's in! Looking forward to the next book!!

Pfiou… on se rapproche de la fin de la série, certains secrets sont lourds à porter. J'ai encore dévoré cet opus en quelques heures. Il me tarde de connaître le dénouement car le stress monte. Dans ce tome les émotions sont moins intenses que dans les précédents tomes mais heureusement sinon mon pauvre petit cœur n'aurait jamais survécu… Il y a encore beaucoup d'actions et la relation entre Calista et Talon s'apaise enfin et avance même s'ils ont une sacrée épée de Damoclès au-dessus de leurs têtes. Je précise que l'un des deux ignore complètement la menace, ce qui apporte quelques tensions et émotions fortes. J'ai aimé découvrir d'autres facettes de certains personnages qui jusqu'ici m'avaient passablement agacé. Je reste triste pour Calista qui n'a pas beaucoup de soutiens alors qu'elle mérite l'univers. C'est une série que je recommande surtout si vous lisez en anglais.
