Time travel, and also travel to a pre 2017 sense of American pride.

I got this book in a bargain bin because the cover looked cool and it made me think of Blake Crouch's upcoming novel. Total blind purchase.

For the first 75 pages, it was pretty good. Decent chatacter work and a lingering mystery to keep you turning the pages. But then we get to chapter 13 where the answers start coming... and it's ridiculous. Harry is teavelling through history created by a tangible "American Dream" that Benjamin Franklin conjured with the help of an Egyptian god. And you can only slip through time in abandon towns while driving purely American made cars. Oooook.

The author can form a sentence, so I'm giving it an extra star for that. But I can't spend 250 more pages to see how this bad idea plays out. I'm out.

This wasn’t in the same world as 14 and the other one, but I still really enjoyed it. I also think it has a little to do with the narrator of the audio book, because he does the Bobiverse books and you know I’m over the moon for those. But Peter Clines definitely has my fandom, because I will keep reading whatever he writes. This was fun and sad and brain squeezing and I wish the American dream wasn’t in the hands of men, faceless or not, but of course a man is going to write his own kind into that crucial role no matter what. Loved the geek references, as usual, and can’t wait to see what he dreams up next.

Slow start for me but loved it overall

I won this book in a Goodreads First Reads contest.

Passing this book on to a group of ladies who read and share books with one another. I am sure they will love to put it into the reading rotation.

I've only read the books in his cosmic universe and I have to say, without hesitation, that this is easily my favorite. I loved 14 and The Fold (Dead Moon was not the book for me). Absolutely could not stop reading them. This one was the same. I had to keep going until the end. I love the road the characters traveled on. I love how Clines made America seem beautiful again.

The author wrote an afterwards talking about how he worried about releasing this book about America during one of the most interesting - dark - times in America (2016-2017). I have to say, Clines has warmed my heart with this book. I wanted to be on this journey with the characters and wanted to see where the rest of the story went.

If you are thinking of picking up a Peter Clines book, I definitely think 14 and the Fold should be read in that order. Paradox Bound and Dead Moon are stand alone enough to read them before, after, or in-between. I just want there to be a climax to the things lurking under the surface in all of these stories... I need to know if *they* come through...

Mr. Clines is always a reliable source of an entertaining story. He writes good characters and interesting storylines. This one did not have any weirdly futuristic ending like 14 or The Fold. It read very much like a good Dean Koontz from back in the old days. I appreciated the 80’s references.

One complaint I did have about it was that there was a lot of talking and driving and talking and driving and talking and driving. it felt like it took a long time to explain this world. The historical references were fun.

Audible: reader was good! Set the mood perfectly.
