This highly imaginative, wacky novella really pushes the envelope on speculative fiction and I'm not sure I understood it all. The wit and humor kept me going. Basically, there's another dimension with an Endless creature/substance/being that breaks off and rejoins itself and is constantly changing. It wants to get into Earth and consume everything. There's a fragment of the Endless that has become sentient and doesn't want to be re-absorbed, Trillin; she is one of the main characters. The other main character is a female student of magic, Sian, who uses a portal to go do fieldwork in the Endless and meets Trillin. Cross-species romantic fireworks ensue. They save each other's lives in various ways. Can Sian and Trillin find romance and save the earth in the meantime? Read it and find out.

This book had a lot to love, but for me it also felt too rushed. What I loved was the other dimension, Endless, and its magical way of existing. The descriptions were so beautiful in both the dimensions as well as Trillin’s fluidity in her body and mind. Sian was also a great and funny character and I loved both of the love interests instantly. I know this is supposed to be a short and light read but making 10 life changing things happen in 48 hours while also trying to build romance and background lore just made me kind of breathless and not in a good way. Also, apart from few moments in the book, I needed more descriptions about the love interests senses when they interacted with each other! I do love the characters and the setting, but I’m not sure if I want to pick up the second book.

Holy shit, this was so good! It's impossible to explain, but definitely worth a read. The almost-childlike explanations of the world through Trillan's experiences were brilliant. I never thought I could feel for a 'terrifying monster' but somehow I fell for Trillan! Sian was great too; I wouldn't normally actively seek stories with witches, but I want to read more about her and her skills. And Bunny was so cute, even though he almost destroyed everything, lol! Oops. A brilliant story! I've already added book 2 to my TBR list, and will definitely be keeping an eye out for other books by this author.

This is a short enough read and so I was going to try push through but tbh I got halfway and still was not connecting with the writing nor the characters. With it being on the shorter side I knew it would have an insta feel but I don't know, the way it's written just made it hard for me to connect or care for the characters which is very different for me. I'm that reader who is always connecting with characters even the secondary characters.

If you're in the mood for a fun, quirky and lighthearted read with themes of identity and belonging, this one might be for you.

This was so cute and fun. I wish it was longer and we got more character building.

A one of a kind queer romance that is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. A sweet, strange cozy fantasy.

"She didn’t know much about human customs, but skeletons had to be private, or else why would they be so carefully wrapped up?"

Cute but felt very rushed. I loved Trillin's POV when she was trying to create a body. I would have loved a longer dive into their relationship and more of a build-up (I'd also love a deeper dive into the lore of The Endless), but it was a fun quick read.
