Honestly, I did like this one. It was expected to be a novella, so not much conflict and I really enjoyed the fluff. Nesta just annoyed me so much. She was just starting to get better in ACOWAR. I wasn’t expecting conflict, so i dont know why so many people were because Sarah J Maas stated it would be a novella, not specifying who it would mainly be about (people claiming it was about Nessian). All in all, I really enjoyed it.

At this point I don't know why I keep trying with SJM. Hey SJM superfans, what do you see in her that I don't??

I only read this in case it had relevant stuff for A Court of Silver Flames. I dunno maybe some of it will be relevant but this book was a Bad Time

It feels more like fanfic of the ACOTAR series, than something officially released by the author. I know it's just a supplementary novella, but it was so unenjoyable despite being mostly fluff (and the smut wasn't it either).

I think I'm just done with Feyre at this point. By the end of ACOWAR I had lost all interest in Feyre as a main character. Thank god the author seems done with her too. This felt like rehashed themes clumsily thrown together.

Side note: of course SJM who can't write a succinct book to save her life releases a novella longer than some novels. If I couldn't have gotten it from my library as an audiobook, I wouldn't have even bothered to waste my time.

It feels like nothing happened in this book. I listened to it because I thought maybe I was missing something at the start of A Court of Silver Flames, but I wasn't really. I just honestly need to re-read the series at some point. This is mostly just a small glimpse at what happens directly after the war, setting up quite a few things that happen in the next book. Overall entertaining, but doesn't do a whole lot to move the story forward.

Review from 2nd re-read: This book is a really nice soothing balm after the previous book as it just feels like a cosy Christmas story. All f the characters are wrestling with the events of the previous book, rebuilding, and working through their survivor's guilt but it still feels very snuggly and a bit like a warm hug.

Overall, I find this really fun to read and it is one of my favourite books in the series largely because we get to see the characters living their lives and being pretty close to happy.

Review and rating from first read: I found this quite a cosy read as our main characters prepare for the Winter Solstice celebration together. I enjoyed the exploration of the lasting affects of the events on ACOWAR and begin to heal and move forward. 4.5⭐

It's an adorable book, that just sums up Feysand beautifully and gives just enough insight into the new book. Cannot wait for ACOSF. Such a fun and cute read.
