fun premise bc fake dating is a great time every time and i enjoy sapphics always but this was kinda boring.

This is the best Monica McCallan book in a while, so I was happy to see her back to form. I was a little less excited with the fake dating trope. I used to really like fake-dating romances, but I’ve grown a bit tired of them.

Anyway, the intrigue here is that the fake dating is happening with the sister of Sydney’s ex to attend wedding events for said ex. I liked the set up, I liked the characters (including the side characters), I liked the development of the romance.

I am docking points for the lack of basic editing. I don’t remember McCallan’s books having so many grammar mistakes, so that was disappointing. Is it bad form to blame her wife, who can’t grammar her way out of a paper bag, for this? (I’m kidding!).

I’m actually hoping McCallan turns this into another book. But I won’t spoil my whole I want paired up in that one.
