all i’ve ever needed was to read lilo’s pov about all that happened . i got it. 10/10. made me cry.
“You can read my mind now? Your superpower finally kicked in.” “No,” he breathes, staring down at me. “I just know you too well.” Oh. “Will you let me know when you get your superpower?” He nods, and his fingers slide across the base of my neck. I love that he touches me so much more. “I have to warn you though, I may not have one.” “That’s okay,” I say. “Sometimes I like the idea of just being mortal with you.”

My phone slips from my hand, thudding to the floor. I reach into the cupboard behind me and find a bottle of Glenfiddich. Three-fourths full. I pop off the crystal stopper and put the rim to my lips. I hesitate for only one second before the sharp liquid slides down my throat.

“Lo,” I whisper, my fingers making circles on his black shirt. “I just want you to know that if you leave this world, I won’t be in it for much longer.” He’s a piece of me. You cut it off, and it’s like going through life with no lungs. That is how deep our love really goes.

This is a companion novel, set in Lily and Lo's perspective through the events of Kiss the Sky and Hothouse Flower.
I absolutely LOVE this series but I wish this book had been a novella. A full length novel rehashing the last two books through Lily and Lo's eyes was unnecessary IMO. But, now onto the next book and BIG things are happening!

4.95 ⭐️! i love this series. i love these characters. i was hesitant about going back in time but this book helped fill in so many gaps in the timeline, add some additional perspective, and truly humanize each and every character in this series
