It was a good ending to Malachi and Ava story. I liked it as I have fallen in love with this particular fantasy world.

The storyline was entertaining. It hooked me. I loved getting to see the plot unfold in very interesting ways. Of course we find out Eva's true origins, yeah!

Overall I really enjoyed this one and the two before. The series (especially Book 3) I didn't think fit cleanly into the romance category. Its definitely paranormal, but the romance is stretching it for this book. The plot that carries this series (IMO) is the whole intrigues among the Fallen and Eva's origins (and not the romance between Eva and Malachi). Book 1and 2 fit more cleanly into the paranormal romance genre. I can't say the same for Book 3.

The love/sex scenes felt rather forced; it had nothing to do with the story. So after a while I was like, "ok enough', get back to the story. It was a bit annoying having the story interrupted for some impromptu sex. It felt after awhile that the sex scenes in Bk 3 were solely an effort to satisfy the "romance" genre.

Bk 3 focuses on discovering the plots set in motion by the Fallen, Eva's origins and how it ties in with what is going on with the Fallen. Definitely lots of intrigue, which I really like in stories.

The writing is great but Zach Webber's voice truly elevates the audiobook. The way he narrates this book adds a dream-like note to it and I just wanted to keep listening. I got a bit confused with all the new names introduced in this part of the story (they sound similar) and overall I did not enjoy it as much as the previous two books. But I still love the relationship between Ava and Malachi, and want to see how the overarching story will unfold. I suspect we will see a new couple soon..

This was a pretty good conclusion to this series. It was hard for me to get back in it because such a long time had passed between when I read the first two books. I still liked Ava and was curious to what was going on with her grandmother etc. I honestly felt this book was a little anti-climactic since in the end it felt like it was wrapped up pretty neatly. I did like the inclusion of the kareshta. I felt like that was a nice touch and really brought the world into a good balance. Ava and Malachi were still adorable together, but I felt like most of the book was just them trying to figure themselves out, with no real resolution since Malachi was NOT fine at the end of the book. The author said there will be other books in this world, but I had hoped for a better resolution for these characters. 4 out of 5 stars.

Beautiful

A wonderful conclusion to the story of Ava and Malachi. Characters I love, a world that intrigues, and a conclusion that satisfies without wearing me down!

The Secret was not good. I was hoping for a fun epic ending to this series and instead I got an annoying, not surprising, confusing ending to things. Some slight spoilers ahead.

The Secret picked up where the last story left off and Ava...turned into this weak, lame girl. She was afraid of everything, afraid to use her powers cause she might hurt someone, just super lame! I was like what happened to her? I know she was shutting down because Malachi was dead, but he is back and...I didn't get it. I didn't understand why she was suddenly so weak and poor me.

Then she gets back to more her normal self and it was just okay. There were a lot of "surprises" that weren't surprises. They were all obvious and I couldn't figure out why the other characters didn't see what was happening or whatever until it was revealed and then they were all shock! What?! For example Malachi and Ava move into a place in a city and a cat shows up. It is noted how gold the cat's eyes are so I thought oh, it is one of the fallen. That is cool they can change to look like animals also. Only no one ever thought about that! No one. Not until later when the cat changes into the fallen and Ava is all no way!?! I didn't know the cat was you!?! When it was obvious to me the entire time. Or at least I would have thought how odd it was that the cat has the same color eyes as the fallen...There were so many instances of this it annoyed me.

Also I don't really understand why there was such a big deal made about Ava. Yeah she was part of one of the surprises, but to save the day they didn't need her except to lure the one fallen angel to where they wanted. Other than that it could have been anyone so...She didn't even do that much in the end. She was told special words that would help, but they could have told any Singer that and it would have been the same result. So she was just a lure. And that was...disappointing. Plus the big surprise at the end and how everyone was so upset and broken by it...I didn't like. I might be heartless, but if there are bad people I will take them out regardless of who they are/how old they are. So yeah. I didn't enjoy this final chapter to this story. I was hoping for a fun, epic battle and I got scared Ava, then lots of not-surprising surprises, and a lackluster showdown.

The exciting conclusion of Ava and Malachi's story

Simply put this last book following Ava was brilliant. It has it all. Confusing dreams. Beautiful moments of love and joy. A sadness so acute I wept. Hate and fierce willingness to battle alongside them came over me, out of no where. I loved all the characters, old and new, and cannot wait to spend more time in this fascinating world with its beautiful words and so well written I can picture it all with vivid clarity. Well done to the author, a unique and endearing world not soon to be forgotten.

I really liked this last installment, although the ending felt rushed. I will be reading the novella, but I'm not sure if I will continue with the other books in the series.

The build-up in this one was slow and I wasn't sure if the plot would go on for another book. It wrapped up nicely though, and left no loose ends. Damien ended up being my favorite, I think. His history and dynamic with Sari did it. I love the idea of magic being written on the body. A very satisfying series.
