very good, and very good insight on to show properlove tochildren.
This was fascinating and informative, but I plan to revisit it when my boys are older.

I'll be concise. This is a must read for every parent. If you're not a parent then go and look for the one that applies the best to your situation.
Everyone speaks a different love language, how big it would be, if we started looking around us for others love languages.

Not a big fan. There were a lot of examples or little stories. The book stated you can't even start looking into what love language is your child's until they are like 8. I have toddlers and feel like the name of the book was misleading. Also I don't think it's practical to "fill your child's love tank" everyday with gifts or other random things. I'm an engaged parent, but I don't have time to floss, let alone think of these random parenting tidbits all day.
I really enjoyed this listen. I found myself talking about love languages with my family all week while listening, and realized that my 14 year old needs more love shown to him than I've been doing. Some of my kids don't like touch, but I realized I can do service and spend time with them to show love instead. This book made me more aware of all 5 love languages and how I should do all of them for each child. I do think showing more love has helped my children behave better just in this past week.
I've been intrigued with the idea of The Five Love Languages since I first heard of it. Have I been loving wrong?! What is my sweet husband's language? What is my language?!
From this book: I learned that it is difficult to pinpoint a child's love language. I learned that it is important to love them in their language. I learned that it is important to love them in every language. Clear as mud.
Even after the little quizzes they provide, I still can't determine my own family. My daughter seems equally measured in two languages (and is also easily suitable with a third); I've been able to successfully remove only one from my son's list. When I asked them, "How do you know I love you?"' they rattled off several components from several of the different languages.
My husband just laughed at the ridiculousness of the questions in the quiz. And, while he is an amazing gift giver, and I love getting them, I'm pretty positive that "Gifts" is not my love language.
But, I feel loved. And I know my children feel loved. If nothing else, this book taught me the different methods for telling those I love that I do, indeed, love them.
If you hug me and tell me you love me and give me chocolate after telling me that you had my car washed... I'm pretty sure that you love me. We should go to lunch. ;)

I really think this is a book every parent should read! It will totally change the way you relate to your kids, and deepen your relationship and bond.
Just like the original five love languages, the children version boils down to a simple approach to gauge how each child wants to be loved and how to go about giving that to him/her.
