I had already read " the 5 love languges" and I wanted to know how I could take that knowledge into relationships with my children and what THEIR love languages are. I forgot to give them the test that was in the back of the book to see what their languages are. I have a good idea now but I need to find out more.

It really does make sense that learning which love languages belong to which kid would help us make them feel more loved.

Good framework for making sure children feel loved based on the way they best receive love (vs how we feel comfortable showing it). I love this idea and the 5 categories are clear.

I had two major issues. 1: I did feel it was over-simplified at times - the example stories are like from a hallmark movie that magically resolve to happy endings. And 2: while at first it was relatively easy to ignore the religious message, it did became too heavy-handed for me, detracting from the message. Some readers will embrace it, for many others, though, it will be a huge turnoff

Overall still worthwhile, with the awareness of the overly zealous religious messaging

My first DNF of the year. Very preachy, horribly repetitive, misogynistic undertones, awkwardly Christian. Not a fan. I enjoy the basic idea of the 5 love languages, but I won’t be giving this “parenting” book anymore of my time.

This was such an eye opening book. The ideas presented were simple but ones I never really stopped to think of. I think all parents should read this.

Great resource to refer to when I'm trying to fill my children's love tanks with their particular language of love.

I got this since the original love languages book was out at the library. I enjoyed the helpful way of framing love as a language. I already applied some of the tools offered in this book successfully. It’s encouraging to realize the simple and varied ways we can show others we love them. Also it’s a great reminder that our feelings may not have the result we desire or come across accurately.

I’d already read the original 5 Love Languages book and had found it eye opening. I recently discovered there was one for parents as well. Easy read and helped me understand my daughter and son’s love languages better (acts of service and words of affirmation, respectively).
hopeful informative lighthearted reflective medium-paced

Awesome book!!!
