Book 16 in the Harry Bosch series. This book sees Harry sailing close to the wind at times as he struggles to solve a cold case. Can be read as a stand alone but is part of a great side. This shows Harry's all to human side. I enjoyed this and I'm sure you will

Another middle of the road. I think I've read this one before, though I didn't remember much of it. But the "mystery" was somewhat easy to guess quickly.
The relationship between Bosch and Anna is a bit boring, I hope she doesn't stay too long still. Maddie is the more interesting character at this point.
Also, I'm getting a little bit tired of the "morally gray" bits from Bosch, it's becoming less nuance and more of a caricature.

This one started out slow for me, with a scene from the King riots in 1992, and then a chapter or two before the action really took off. Once it did, it was as exciting as a Bosch novel usually is, with the added character depth as he navigates fatherhood and a romantic relationship.
Michael Connelly delivers again. Mostly.
I thought it was an excellent story well executed.
Unfortunately for me, I felt it twisted on an unbelievable axis at one point in the story.
I can still recommend it and I will wait patiently for his next release.

Had the pleasure of discussing this book with the author himself. I loved a look back at a cold case file, and reading as Harry struggles with aging, personal growth, and trying to solve an old case that has always stuck with him.
Bosch is a character you can get behind and over the course of the last 20 years, you grow with him. Great series!

Kind of slow start. But ended up being a good book. Crazy and fast ending. Lots of talk of Manteca, Stockton, and Modesto LOL. Crazy ending in Modesto.
Found myself a bit lost in the middle of the book but the ending not only cleared up everything it needed but also kept me at the edge of my seat.
