Not necessarily my first book of 2023 since I started it after Christmas
funny lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I loved the #ownvoices representation in this novella (re: autism).  I really appreciated the diabetic representation as well.  I haven’t read any books with either of these representations at the forefront of the story, and Chloe executes both flawlessly.  I adored both of these characters and their authentic conversations towards the end of the novella.  I think they both really learned a lot about the other; it was a HEA all the way around.  The only part that didn’t really work for me was just the pace with this being a novella.  With a longer story, I think I would have felt more of a connection between the two characters.  I think this is a personal issue I have with novellas and short stories and not what will be reflected by the majority of readers.

I am so furious that this is my first book of the year because now I will spend the rest of 2022 comparing every other ship to the utterly adorable and impossibly lovable Jonathan and Gabby. I am so in love with them! I was nervous because I picked this up off of a glowing recommendation from a friend and I just was out of Christmas spirit this whole holiday period ( literally where was this book a month ago, could've saved me from my semi-grinch like state!) BUT this novella delivered so much warmth and laughter (and good representation!!) in a short little enemies to friends (blink and you will miss it) to lovers package.

Loved it, certainly re-reading come Dec 2022!!

This was great and I love Chloe Liese’s writing! Really looking forward to reading more of her non-holiday romances.

While I do love a good Christmas read, The Mistletoe Motive is a great, feel good story with a workplace romance enemies to lovers opposites attract trope.

I love Gabriella who loves everything about Christmas, but I think I love Jonathan the grinch more hahah such a softie. Both are so adorable and had me smiling from start to finish ☺️

I enjoyed this but not enough to really gush over it. There were a few things I wish were different and could have been more fleshed out, but this is a novella (less than 200 pages).

They are enemies to lovers in a way but not enemies per say but just two co-workers that did not have anything nice to say to each other or about each other.

I think the thing that ruined it for me was the fact these two were spending every night talking to someone online for a year and were interested in THAT person until he realizes that it is her and she realizes she actually finds him attractive but has mixed feelings about her Mr. Reddit mystery guy.

I kind of wished that they both had crushes on each other or at least HE knew it was her the entire time and loved her. The fact that it was not the case made me eh about their romance? Idk how to describe it.

However, once he does realize it is her that is when he does things for her without her knowledge, and it was sweet. I just did not click as much as I would have liked to with the two MC's.

Their epilogue was cute though. He bought the bookstore for her, and they are happily married.

This was so CUTE

I love Chloe's books so much and this one I just didn't at all which I think made me sad more than anything. It wasn't cozy and it wasn't fun, and I was confused by the character development/lack there of. Lots of telling, not much chemistry.
