one of the best romances I've read.
in love with all of the characters.
lighthearted fast-paced

nice and cute for the holidays. need me a jonathan in my life pls.

“Here's the thing about reading romance: it's taught me an appreciation for a good grovel, but it's also taught me to recognize a toxic character when I see one.”

Mr Frost hates the holidays but his colleague Gabby’s festive cheer is infectious and the only thing they have in common is this healthy dislike for one another. The Bailey’s bookshop is on of the last independent stores in the city and it’s hanging on by a page.

The Bailey’s need to minimise expenses and proposition that the person with the most sales will stay on a manager. Neither of them willing to concede, so let the games begin. The pair strike an agreement and whoever loses will leave. Her opponent isn’t the easiest to read, and he’s well versed in throwing her off her game. If that wasn’t bad enough her ex boyfriend is borderline stalking her, unwilling to take no for an answer.

Just when the pressure hits it peak the unthinkable happens and a tender side to Jonathan is exposed. Gabby being demisexual doesn’t find people attentive as quick as others might, she met Mr Reddit online and has formed more than a friendship and has finally decided to meet in real life.

Torn between meeting the online man of her dream and the shock of being attracted to Mr Frost Gabby faces the hard decision of picking the man she wants to be with. Can Mr Frost melt her heart or will Mr Reddit be the man to do the job?

Oh this book, this was actually my first Chloe Liese read and I cannot wait for more already, it was beautiful written and both main characters were so relatable. I loved how both Jonathan and Gabby had medical disabilities and this is something Liese adds to her novels being neurodivergent herself. Oh and the end has a perfect amount of SPICE. Book shop, grumpy shine, enemies to lovers and perfect for any Hating Game lovers.

It’s a short and sweet read if you’re looking for something quick to get in before Christmas this is your book.

Really cute and festive- great to get you into the holiday spirit with a little enemies to lovers, workplace romance.
The dynamic between the characters was really something else- and the rep was great!

had me giggling and kicking my feet

Very cute grumpy sunshine read. I also enjoyed the different representations in the story.

2.5
A lovely Christmas-y story, where The Hating Game meets You've Got Mail. The plot unfortunately lost a bit of traction towards the end, but it was an enjoyable ride all the way through. Appreciated the demisexual representation, just wish it was more/better fleshed out. I will certainly be reading more from this author!
