i found it okay it was going to be a two start until the last 4 chapters when i found myself liking it more and enjoying the characters. the writing was weird and it didn't flow and i didn't see myself like the characters till halfway. i do like these characters do have flaws and they recognise them. do love the disability and LGBTIQQ rep.
I will forever shout from the rooftops that I don't love novellas and enemies to lovers is NOT my favorite troupe. BUT I am also now willing to shout from rooftops about my love for this enemies to lovers novella! This book was everything that I needed it to be! It is set at bookstore at Christmas, there is the grumpy/sunshine troupe, there is a great friend group, and I love the representation (Gabby is autistic and asexual, and Jonathan has Type 1 diabetes). Chloe Liese has become one of my favorite new (to me authors) this year, and I love everything about her writing style. This one was her first novella and a tad different because it is told only in Gabby's POV (except for the epilogue which was fantastic). This book is slow burn sweet, swoony, steamy goodness. If you read only one Christmas novella, it should be this one!
"My heart swan dives off a snow bank and lands in a pillow of powdery glee. I smile so hard my cheeks hurt."
“I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that my skin’s humming and my cheeks are warm, and the sound of my name on his lips echoes in the snowy silence.”
The Mistletoe Motive is an enemy coworkers-to-lovers Christmas novella from one of the finest - Chloe Liese. We get her perfected slow burn style with a nice hat tip to It’s A Wonderful Life, as Bailey’s Bookshop is threatened by the bigger, more powerful chain, Potter’s. Gabriella and Jonathan have fun, quirky chemistry and you can’t beat the indie bookstore setting for a fun holiday romance! I devoured this in one perfect evening.

adorable and not boring, very predictable, and wasn’t perfect or even show stopping but it was heartwarming and that’s all i wanted.
Cute, holiday themed novella by Liese. I enjoyed the play on you’ve got mail and am a sucker for a grumpy/sunshine
