Very cute short romance, perfect for the holiday season!
I’d much rather read this book than listen. I’ll try again if I ever find a print copy to borrow.

A cute holiday novella.
Nice to read, the characters are lovely.
Not much surprise but still really cool!

This book lacked A LOT. The main character had autism spectrum disorder yet she never ever read that way. For almost 20 years I’ve worked with kids all over the spectrum and while it’s true that if you’ve met one person with Autism Spectrum Disorder, then you’ve met one person with ASD; not one single child or adult have I ever met like Gabby. I can usually tell when a character in a novel will be diagnosed ASD, but Gabby never felt that way. I think the author tried: sensory issues like too loud music, or clothes that may feel weird, or issues with social cues. But it’s all “kind of” Gabby said she was but she never acted or portrayed them accurately. It was such a reach. Even my partner who was listening to the audiobook with me (and is a teacher, too, but generally doesn’t work with special ed population) thought it was ridiculous to label the character this way. Also the chemistry between Gabby and Jonathan was ridiculously low and lacking. From the very first page I could tell how this book was going to go and when she sat down to her computer and talked about Mr Reddit I rolled my eyes already knowing. Nothing in this book grabbed me or made sense. They worked together for a year but she had no idea he was diabetic? Or played hockey? Her best friends/roommates never came into the store for an entire year?? They were the only two people in the store the majority of the time for a year and yet never spoke. Even when I worked with people I didn’t like I knew things about them. Glad this book ended.
