I absolutely loved this Christmas romance!

Yes, I read a Christmas book in July, but that's because it's actually cold in July where I live. It was delightful reading a book set in winter, during winter, being able to drink peppermint hot chocolate with a blanket and a kitten on my lap.

These two main characters could not communicate in the early part of the book, but I love that they actually managed to figure out WHY they initially didn't understand each other.

Jonathan and Gabriela are such a delightful enemies / rivals to friends to lovers slowburn romance, and I was there for every part of their story. I also loved the Bookshop setting, with them learning to put aside their antagonism in order to try and save the bookshop they both love.

Highly recommend this one!

ate DOWN, so so cute omggg i wish it were longer so perfect for the holidays

4 stars.

Chloe Liese is an automatic read for me. No questions.

This was sweet and adorable and everything I could ask for. The reason I withheld a star in this review is not for lack of representation, hot chocolate, Pride and Prejudice/You've Got Mail elements. Not at all.

I just don't think it went beyond my expectations to the level Liese usually achieves for me. This should not take away from how amazing this was, especially for a novella.

Personally I had a good time. It was a low substance, low serious angst, and great vibes. Love good banter. Can you predict the entire plot from the first chapter? Of course! But it’s got that You’ve Got Mail charm and, is that a hint of Check, Please?

I rolled my eyes at first at the flat explanation of neurodivergence and tools but ultimately I’m actually very glad. The main character representation in a low key and joyful story where that’s not the main plot was great.

Overall SUPER quick read for holiday good vibes with some steam to keep out the cold.

My favorite quick holiday read so far this year. Enchanting, clever, and cheek-numbingly adorable.

Cute holiday novella with rivals in a bookstore that involves a lot of very convenient coincidences. Sugary sweet, but unique backgrounds of characters (autistic/demisexual/T1D) and general lighthearted plot won me over by the end.

I enjoyed the author’s descriptive writing and the representation. I’m personally taking a bit off bec I honestly didn’t think we needed the open door. Jonathan and Gabriella were perfect but the last two or three chapters felt rushed and slightly out of character.

The Hating Game but make it Christmas and at a bookstore with an autistic MC. This book is so effing cute.

It was cute. Inclusive, pretty straight to the point Novella. It was strange only seeing one perspective till the epilogue chapter but she wrote it well but she does Duo perspectives better
