Right now I haven't been feeling the holiday spirit so thought reading some seasonal romances might get me in the festive mood, but this one was just meh. Considering the book is less than 200 pages I struggled to get into the pacing of the story and whenever I would put it down I was in no rush to pick it back up. However, this book was sitting at four stars for me until the last 20ish pages where I had to take a star off for the abrupt scenes and character change. Without spoiling anything, I liked the way the story was going and would have ended on a four stars had it not gone that extra mile at the end. The dialogue just felt so unlike the characters and instead felt like the scene was included just to "check the box" of sorts. Didn't fit for me.
If you are looking for a cute holiday read set in a bookstore, this will be perfect for you!

This was a really cute, fast, and heartwarming read! I loved the banter and how inclusive this book was, seeing that Gabby is autistic and demisexual while Jonathan has diabetes, but I do wish the reveal at the end would have gone a little differently, perhaps with a bit more holiday magic, and that the book had been longer so we could have gotten a few more scenes between Gabby/Jonathan and Gabby/Mr. Reddit.

Adorable holiday read. Incredibly predictable but that adds to the comfort and cosy vibes. Winter Christmas vibes.

2.5 “That’s when I prayed, because kissing you was water in a desert, sunlight breaking the horizon, and I was gone for you, no turning back. I’m not a praying man, Gabriella, but I prayed so fucking hard that this wasn’t some horrible joke, that you’d be happy when you realized it was me, that whatever cosmic force gave me the gift of stumbling into your life wasn’t cruel enough to keep me from always belonging to it.”
