“No more being brave on your own,” he says. “Now we’re brave together.”
“Together.” I smile up at him and hold his eyes.

4.5 stars.

Chloe Liese has done it again!!
This was such a hug of a book! I loved it so much and has so much fun reading it! Gabriella and Jonhattan were the greatest!!!
adventurous inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

I was disappointed by this book. I'm a huge fan of Chloe Liese's serie 'The Bergman Brothers' so I was looking forward to reading this holiday novella, but it wasn't on the same level if you ask me.

It was predictable and there were a lot of clichés, but I didn't mind that to much. What bothered me the most was the lack of chemistry between them and the 2 horrible last chapters that were just so corny and cringy. I really wanted to love this so bad, but the ending ruined it for me.

Note: An ARC was provided by Valentine PR.

I penciled this book onto my list of favorite reads for 2021 when I was halfway through, barring anything catastrophic happening in the second half. Once I was done, Gabby and Jonathan's story remained sitting prettily on the list, and I've been left immensely impressed by Chloe Liese. I loved her main characters--from the back and forth and the tension simmering between them, Gabby and Jonathan are among my most unforgettable fictional couples. Gabby being on the spectrum and Liese being neurodivergent herself were just two of the noteworthy aspects of this book. Add to that endearing characters and a heartwarming story filled with romance and wit, and The Mistletoe Motive is a five-plus-starred must-read!

Admittedly, I'm not a big romance reader - I needed something for a reading challenge and I was looking for a book that felt lighthearted and silly. This fit the bill.
I liked Gabby's representation of demisexuality & autism - as someone who is ace/aro I can say that the demi rep was pretty solid & nice to see, but also as someone who is ace/aro, I cannot vouch for how realistic the sex/romance scenes are (I felt like things tended to move a little quick, but, again, not my wheelhouse.)
Cute, silly, quick read.

workplace enemies to lovers set in a bookshop at christmas !!!!! what more could you honestly want !!

i adored this and am already looking forward to rereading it next christmas hehe <3

also the main characters is autistic and demisexual and the love interest is diabetic and these are all so underrepresented in books it was amazing to read!

This was short and sweet. The grumpy guy and the embodiment of every holiday girl have to work together to save the failing bookstore they love. This moved quick and was a lovely Christmas story. Chloe Liese gets bonus points for including some unexpected hockey into this.
