This book was much better than I thought it would be and I thought it would be pretty good. This is a story of a boy you finds out he is the son of a Mayan god. He also wakes up the God of death, and goes in a crazy adventure to fix that huge problem.

I started this book back in 2018 but did not get to finish it as I got as an e-book sample. Than as I was searching a bookstore I was reintroduced and I instantly picked it up thinking I remember this, the book I didn’t get to finish and loved. From chapter one the book is a hit and the reader won't be displeased and will be craving more. Even as a 13 year old I loved this book, I would definitely recommend it

Based on Mayan mythology Zane has a volcano in his backyard that hides the entrance to Xib’alb’a one day he sees a plane crash into the volcano and glimpses the face and it’s either a really good Halloween costume or an actual zombie. Zane has been home-schooled but has been accepted into Holy Ghost school, there he meets Brooks who tells him his life is tied to a prophecy and he's in the centre of it.

Action packed, full of adventure, the readers will journey with Zane and explore the best parts of Mayan mythology. This was a great introduction for me to the Rick Riordan Presents imprint.

This book is probably best written for kids 10+

Also this book includes a pronunciation guide on the gods, goddesses and places that appears in the book.
