This was an amazing book, I’m so glad I finally read this but this book also caused me so much anger and pain at what the main character had to experience

and how in the end the cop that murdered her friend was never found guilty

anyway this was an amazing book even tho it made me cry and I recommend everyone read it

Such a great book i really loved it. There were a few Pg-13 scenes but i definataly reccomend this book. Even if you dont want to read about black lives matter its still a great book.

This book is SOOOOOO AMAZING! I've been wanting to read this for a while and finally got to for a school project. This book can be related to and read by people of all types. It uses the N-word a few times as well as some cuss words, but it's not super bad. It's also a super heart-breaking story about a young girl who struggles with the death of her friend, police brutality, gang violence, relationships, and her identity around specific people. She feels like she can't always be her true self around certain people.

I'll get the deduction out of the way first, I'm not normally someone to hate on HP references (I used to be the opposite), but there really were just too many in this book.

Okay now that aside this book was 🔥🔥🔥 I can absolutely see why it's been banned and challenged so much, and it's absolutely one that NEEDS to be read. I wish I would've read it as a young adult because it would've been wildly eye opening. I also think there are a lot of people who would see themselves in many of the characters.
