inspiring lighthearted

✨If you want your children to be intelligent read them fairytales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairytales.✨

This is a small but very thought-provoking book.
Writer advice on art, writing, following your dreams, importance of libraries, and why kids should read.
Neil Gaiman’s words are not dramatic or rambling but they are poetic and beautiful and
Chris Riddell’s illustrations make this book more interesting and enjoyable.

A good book to keep yourself motivated and to keep you going.

We all have an obligation to daydream! A smile sat on my face throughout this nugget. Thank you Mr. Gaiman for lighting a torch for all generations.

Art Matters. "Because your imagination can change the world. So Be BOLD. Be REBELLIOUS. Choose ART. IT MATTERS. "
The above is just a tiny portion of the book, and it is the one I chose to follow now.
About the book
The book is divided into 4 different stories -

The first "Credo" - It is about ideas and their freedom. how it cannot be crushed or killed, because it is invisible and it can be written, sculpted or even drawn

5/5 stars
A super cute and inspiring little book. The illustrations are amazing, and it's the perfect book to read if you want to read something short and meaningful.

Just what I needed today. Loved the honesty, simplicity, and encouragement. I always enjoy listening to people who truly, truly value art and everything it can bring to our lives, as creators and consumers. So, thank you, Neil Gaiman. You're a gem.
And also Chris Riddell with your beautiful sketches which always perfectly captured my visualizations of Neil's advice.

3.5

Neil Gaiman's short essays about books, reading, libraries and art and beautifully illustrated by Chris Riddell is quite inspiring. He says “The world always seems brighter when you've just made something that wasn't there before”. "We have an obligation to read for pleasure." A non-writer like me also feels like picking up a pen after reading this wonderful book.

Ridell is the perfect illustration for Gaiman's work. I have loved their recent collaborations. I bought this book and the audiobook, since it was written by Gaiman himself. I highly recommend the immersion reading method for this one: Enjoy Gaiman's mellifluous voice as you follow along with the printed copy. You won't regret it.
