Natascha Kampusch

This book was incredible. How she adapted and therefore survived that ordeal... incredible.
She writes in a very introspective and compelling way, and has left me contemplating the true meaning of good and evil and humanity.

I watched the movie first but the book is much more accurate to the true story.
dark hopeful sad medium-paced

Grāmatu klubiņa uzdevums ielekt žanrā, ko parasti neizvēlos. Patieso nozieguma stāstu lasot, ļoti jūtams, ka Nataša Kampuša pamatīgi pētījusi spīdzināšanas tehnikas, gan no laupītāja, gan upura psiholoģiju, statistisko informāciju un tā laika bērnu nolaupīšanas gadījumus, visticamāk tas noticis jau grāmatu rakstot un noteikti ne bez zinoša redaktora rokas vai vismaz psihoterapeita palīdzības.
Stāsts kaut kur galvā man sasaucās ar 2012. gadā lasīto Emmas Donahjū "Istaba".

dark funny informative medium-paced

Don't be put off by the title and cover design; Kampusch writes with graceful clarity, insistent upon the depth and complexity of her own experience even while dismissing sensationalism and her readers' expected voyeurism. This is an astoundingly well-executed memoir, and her voice is powerful and persuasive.

This book was great. Natascha is clearly a very strong, intelligent woman and it was a pleasure, although a very tough subject matter, to read her written words. I'm not sure I could have come out of that situation the way she has.

I wish this story wasn't true. Many were the times I wanted to stop reading because what this girl went through was impossible to understand that it had happened, but I kept on reading, I needed to get to the end as quickly as possible so I could see that she isn't in that situation anymore (it's no secret she got away from there).
This book is very well written and Natascha explains her feelings well.
